As a child enters the world of dance, it is most important that their introduction be a positive, fun, and imaginative experience. Children work on understanding the fundamentals of ballet, tap, and jazz through instruction and guided improvisation.  Classes are musical, physical, and challenge the developing child’s mind and motor skills.

First Steps provides programming that is specifically designed for the different ages and needs of the developing child to build the social, motor, and emotional skills that prepare them for bright, confident futures.

ROOTS Age 7-19*

One of RISE’s main objectives is to provide outstanding dance education as an outlet for students interested in beginning or continuing their desire to dance. The Roots program provides classic dance training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and acrobatics. It allows boys and girls an open opportunity to take a weekly class with participation in our end of the season performance.

Students may specialize in one particular genre or take any combination of classes which provide experience in the fundamentals of each discipline. Dancers are placed in classes according to their experience and are continually evaluated by our faculty to insure proper placement.

As a child grows in age and experience, so does the length of their class. Your child is our focus. We provide a professional environment that motivates, builds self-esteem and grooms confidence—skills necessary to a child’s success in the classroom and beyond.

FLIGHT Age 9-19*

The FLIGHT program serves as a stepping-stone to a more rigorous level of technical training and performance maturity. Designed for the serious dancer with possible aspirations of pursuing dance in the future, FLIGHT is RISE’s most intensive program.

Students demonstrating natural rhythm, grace, passion and technical ability are selected to participate in the FLIGHT program. Offering a more professional classroom setting, we provide a solid foundation for young dancers who are willing and inspired to apply themselves in reaching their fullest potential as dance artists.

Students enrolled in FLIGHT classes and the RISE Dance Company experience more concentrated study, additional performance opportunities, an individualized education agenda and the opportunity of becoming a teaching assistant.

The RISE Dance Company was established to provide unique training, performance, and travel opportunities for students whose dedication and interest in dance goes beyond recreational. Students audition at the start of the school year and are selected to participate based on their skill level, enthusiasm, and commitment.

Eligibility for company is based on class and hourly requirements. For further information regarding company commitment and fees, please contact the RISE office. Company rehearsal schedules, competitions, field trips, and special events are announced as information becomes available.

Class Requirements for ALL Company Dancers:
